Also known as [Legend Of The Four Horsemen Of The Apocalypse].

A battle begins at Ganymede, one of Jupiter's moons. Second Lieutenant Jonathan Tyberius prepares himself to stand in the front line as he remembers a promise that he must deliver to one Leonard Schteinberg. As he readies himself, he thinks back to the events that happened in the past, and in particular, his love story with Leonard. A young and very promising military man, Jonathan stumbles into a mock-battle area and has a run-in with a very annoyed blonde man. This turns out to be Leonard, and his roomate after Jonathan is transferred. In the midst of war and turmoil, they foster a tightly-knit relationship, which would later be thrown into jeopardy after the grotesque man of a commander sets his sight on Jonathan.

COMMENTS

:

If you've read my first review, you would know I'm not a real fan of this particular anime. However, I watched it again, more carefully, and although I still don't feel too much empathy with it, I acknowledge that this anime is actually well put-together. The plot happenings are still paced too quickly, but considering this is a one-episode anime, it suffices well enough.

I do have two very good reasons why you should watch it though. [Legend] is infamous for having some of the most graphic sex scenes amongst yaoi anime. You ain't watched yaoi anime unless you've watched this. Know what I mean? Just too bad most of the sex features a troll of a seme, although the last love scene between Leonard and Jonathan is pretty nice (and sappy). Now the second reason. The final scene is good. It's one of the few scenes that really touched me and IMO, is the redeeming factor for this anime. I do have a feeling that if this anime had been lengthened, it'd make a great anime. I like the setting and the whole tragedy of their doomed love, but well, I also heard that the creators went bankrupt after putting out this anime. ^_^' We'll have to make do with this one and only OVA, huh?

MAIN CHARACTERS

:

Well...just the three of them.

JONATHAN. He's our 2nd Lieutenant who comes to the front line. He's pretty tragic really. He keeps getting harrassed by the troll of a high-ranking officer. But well, on the slightly brighter side, he shares quite an affinity with Leonard, who reminds him of a mentor whom he idolised as a child.

LEONARD. He's like the more experienced officer and he's also Jonathan's roommate. Jonathan reminds him of his younger brother whom he had failed to protect once, so he kinda takes Jonathan under his wing. Later, he falls in love with Jonathan.

TROLL. Ok, that isn't actually his name. I don't know what it is! He just looks like a troll to me, although some reviews have referred to him as a monstrous XXX or a big tub o'lard. ~.~ He's a sick man who enjoys preying on the young, pretty soldiers in his camp and Jonathan is his latest target.

ANIMATION

:

It's pretty good. ^^ I like the action, and the lemon scenes are smoothly done. I do have an issue with the character design. C'mon, the characters look like they have 10-pack abs! And that giant troll of a rapist REALLY does look like a tub of lard. *wince*

I managed to watch the COMPLETELY uncensored version of this anime. The previous copy I have has the graphic details (meaning the vital body parts) censored by these blurry ovals. Well, I see them uncensored now and my GAWD, this will SURELY go down as the most graphic yaoi anime ever made! To put it simply, the uhm, most commonly blurred body part (the c***, yes), can be seen in all its detail.

SCREENCAPS

VOICE-ACTING

:

I've checked and checked and checked, and I can't find an English site that is actually sure who the seiyuu are. There was one that suggested that Koyasu Takehito is Jonathan and I have to agree that it does sound that way. However, [Legend] wasn't on his list of works, so I can't be too sure about that either.

MUSIC

:

It's actually relatively good for a one-episode yaoi anime. I like the musical pieces during the love scenes - they sound really bittersweet.
